Insulated bearings are a general term for bearings that can prevent the passage of electric current and have insulating properties.

One of the main features of insulating bearings is that there is a 50-200μm thick ceramic coating on the surface, which is responsible for electrical insulation and can resist electrical sparks generated at a voltage of 1000V. Thicker coatings can resist high-voltage discharges above 1000V.

The importance of electrical insulation of bearings is mainly reflected in the prevention of galvanic corrosion of the current on the bearings, to protect the grease and rolling elements and raceways from damage, and to achieve the role of improving the service life of bearings.
